India Extends E-Tourist Visa Facilities To 166 Countries

India has officially extended its e-Tourist Visa (e-TV) facilities to 166 countries, marking a significant step in reviving inbound travel and strengthening global tourism ties. The Ministry of Tourism updated its guidance in February 2026, confirming that nine additional nationalities are now eligible for the scheme.  

The e-Tourist Visa is a fully digital authorization that enables travelers to apply online, pay fees, and receive clearance within 72 hours. This streamlined process is designed to attract both leisure tourists and short-term corporate visitors, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing India’s competitiveness as a global destination.
