In a landmark move, the Bihar government has unveiled an incentive program to recover missing land records, a step designed to address one of the state’s most persistent challenges land disputes. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department, led by Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, announced that citizens who provide original or ancestral land documents will be recognized as “Bhoo Yoddhas” (Land Warriors).
This initiative is expected to strengthen governance, reduce litigation, and enhance transparency in property ownership. With nearly 28 crore pages already digitized, the scheme adds a participatory dimension by involving citizens directly in the recovery process.
