India’s government will mark World TB Day 2026 with a nationwide 100-day campaign focused on accelerating tuberculosis elimination. The initiative, beginning March 24 at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, will introduce new digital tools and urban-focused programs to strengthen detection, treatment, and public awareness.
The campaign reflects India’s commitment under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a TB-free India by 2025. Union Health Minister JP Nadda will inaugurate the initiative, highlighting the government’s strategy to combine technology, grassroots engagement, and policy reforms.
Digital And Urban Initiatives
The government will launch the TB Mukt Bharat App to enhance monitoring, reporting, and treatment adherence. Alongside this, the TB Mukt Urban Ward Initiative will intensify efforts in high-burden urban areas, aiming to improve early detection and community participation.
Strategic Vision
By integrating digital innovation with local outreach, the campaign seeks to accelerate progress against one of India’s most persistent public health challenges. The 100-day drive will also showcase India’s achievements in TB control and reinforce its global leadership in disease elimination.
