Expanding Opportunities For Indian Students
The scholarships are part of the Canada–India Talent and Innovation Strategy, designed to enhance higher education access and bilateral cooperation. Applications will open for the 2026–27 academic session via EduCanada and the University of Toronto portals.
Scholarships Across Levels
The program will cover tuition fees, living expenses, and research support for UG, PG, and PhD students. Additionally, 300 funded researcher positions will be created at Canadian universities, offering Indian scholars opportunities in science, technology, and innovation.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Officials highlight that the initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and Canada’s vision of building stronger academic partnerships. Hybrid study centers in India are also planned, easing transitions for students before moving to Canadian campuses.
