Gaganyaan Makes Waves: Crew Module Splashes Down Safely In Bay Of Bengal

India’s ambitious Gaganyaan mission took another leap forward with the successful splashdown of its crew module in a critical air drop test. Conducted off the Andhra Pradesh coast, the test demonstrated the reliability of parachute systems and sea recovery protocols, ensuring astronaut safety during future re-entry missions.

Air Drop Test Details

Safety And Recovery Validation

The successful splashdown validated ISRO’s parachute-based deceleration system, a critical safety feature for astronauts returning from orbit. The Indian Navy played a key role in recovery operations, retrieving the capsule from the sea to simulate real-world post-mission procedures.
