DMRC Launches Mid-Life Overhaul To Modernize Blue Line Trains And Enhance Commuter Safety

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has begun a comprehensive mid-life refurbishment of its Blue Line trains, one of the busiest corridors in the network. The program is designed to extend the lifespan of older rolling stock, improve safety, and deliver a better passenger experience.

Scope Of Refurbishment

The refurbishment covers RS-1 trains that have been in service for nearly two decades. Upgrades include repainting interiors and driver cabins, replacing electrical panels, and modernizing passenger amenities. The initiative also focuses on improving reliability and compliance with updated safety standards.

Managing Director Vikas Kumar inspected the first refurbished train before its induction into service.
