Yes Bank Bolsters Recovery Drive: Receives ₹429 Crore from NPA Sale to JC Flowers ARC
Yes Bank Ltd on Tuesday said it has received a major boost to its balance-sheet cleaning exercise as it got ₹429 crore from the sale of a portfolio of non-performing assets (NPA) to JC Flowers Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC).
Important points:
- ₹429 crore received from a single trust in security receipts portfolio
- Part of the overall NPA sale to JC Flowers ARC, worth ₹48,000 crore
- Covers Yes Bank's efforts to bring down stressed assets and enhance asset quality
- Complies with RBI's initiative to encourage banks to clean up their balance sheets
This is coming as Yes Bank continues its path to recovery after its 2020 restructuring. The bank has been making concerted efforts to lower its gross NPA ratio, which was at 2% as of December 2024, from 13.4% in December 2022.
The successful recovery of this NPA sale is likely to have a positive effect on the financials of Yes Bank and investor sentiment.
