Govt to Establish $1 Billion Fund for Creator Economy
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has declared a $1 billion fund to enhance India's creator economy. This move will give creators access to capital, skill enhancement, and international market exposure. The fund will be created by a public-private partnership. The announcement was made prior to the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, which will be held in Mumbai from May 1-4. The government is also setting up the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) in Mumbai with Rs 391 crore allocation. The step is expected to raise India's stature in the global creative economy.
