The Andhra Pradesh government has announced plans to establish the Indian School of Agriculture, modeled on the Indian School of Business. The initiative aims to address farm sector challenges, integrate AI-based agritech solutions, and provide advanced training to farmers, strengthening agricultural education and innovation in the state.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the proposal during the Collectors’ Conference in Amaravati. The Indian School of Agriculture will function as a deemed university, focusing on farmer welfare, technology-driven solutions, and holistic development of the agricultural sector.
Vision For Agricultural Education
The Indian School of Agriculture is envisioned as a premier institution dedicated to solving farm-related issues. It will combine academic excellence with practical agritech applications, offering farmers access to modern tools, AI-driven advisory services, and sustainable practices.
Integration Of Technology
The school will emphasize AI-based services, precision farming, and digital platforms to empower farmers. By leveraging technology, the government aims to improve productivity, reduce risks, and enhance profitability in agriculture.
Farmer-Centric Approach
Beyond education, the institution will serve as a hub for farmer welfare programs. It will provide training, research support, and policy guidance, ensuring that farmers benefit directly from innovations in agritech and sustainable farming.
