Touching the Skies: India's Rs 6,811 Crore Ropeway Projects to Kedarnath & Hemkund Sahib Ji Take Flight
Two huge ropeway schemes in Uttarakhand have received the go-ahead from the Indian government, together costing Rs 6,811 crore. The two schemes will link Sonprayag to Kedarnath and Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Ji, cutting travel time and facilitating easier access for pilgrims. The Sonprayag-Kedarnath ropeway, stretching 12.9 km, will cost Rs 4,081.28 crore and utilize cutting-edge Tri-cable Detachable Gondola technology. The 12.4 km Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib Ji ropeway has been estimated at Rs 2,730.13 crore. The two projects, taking 4-6 years to be finished, will be designed to increase tourism as well as all-weather connectivity to these significant pilgrim centers.
