Say Cheese! Karnataka’s New Attendance System Requires Selfies for Work!
The Karnataka government has come up with a revolutionary AI-based attendance system where government employees have to upload selfies from inside their office buildings. The move is made to bring in more transparency and accountability to government offices.
- Selfie Requirement: Employees are required to take and upload a selfie through the KAAMS mobile application while they are on office premises.
- AI Technology: The system uses facial recognition and geolocation tracking to confirm attendance, ensuring selfies are taken between 100-200 meters from the office.
- Real-Time Data: Attendance is captured in real-time, preventing the possibility of manipulation found in earlier biometric systems.
- Privacy Assurance: Employee information will be kept confidential and will not be made available to private parties.
- Future Expansion: If successful, this system can be implemented in other states in India.
This new method is likely to enhance punctuality and productivity among more than five lakh government staff in Karnataka.
