India marked National Maritime Day with Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalling the nation’s rich maritime heritage and its role in shaping global trade, cultural exchange, and strategic influence. The commemoration highlighted India’s centuries-old seafaring traditions and emphasized the importance of modern maritime infrastructure for economic growth.

On April 5, National Maritime Day was observed across the country to honor India’s maritime sector. The Prime Minister underscored the nation’s historical connection to the seas, from ancient trade routes to modern shipping advancements, while urging continued innovation in maritime technology and sustainability.
