Senior BJP leader and former Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar announced a significant healthcare boost for Himachal Pradesh with the Centre allocating Rs 950 crore to upgrade medical facilities statewide. This ambitious package marks a historic step in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to advanced medical technology.

Of the package, Rs 650 crore will be directed towards equipping prominent hospitals such as IGMC Shimla, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College in Tanda, Chamba, Nerchowk, and others with state-of-the-art medical equipment. Additionally, Rs 300 crore will fund an Advanced Cancer Institute in Hamirpur, envisioned to become a leading cancer treatment hub for North India.

The package includes installation of 1.5 Tesla MRI machines at key medical colleges and robotic surgery systems at Mandi and Chamba Medical Colleges. Further, 67 Model Health and Wellness Centres will open in rural areas, ensuring modern medical care reaches every village.

Parmar emphasized that this initiative will revolutionize healthcare access, allowing people to receive world-class treatment closer to home without traveling to metro cities. He credited Prime Minister Modi and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda for their visionary efforts in strengthening Himachal’s health sector.
