Marching in Glory: Indian Battalion Displays Valor and Dignity at UNIFIL Medal Day
The Indian Battalion that served under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) marked its Medal Day Parade in high spirits and magnificence. The 821 Indian Army personnel serving under the battalion were awarded the prestigious United Nations Medal for their dedication, service, and participation in peacekeeping operations. Attended by UN high-ranking officials and international guests, the parade exhibited the battalion's discipline, professionalism, and commitment to global peace. The parade was headed by Lt Col Vikas Sheoran.
Organized by the United Nations, the Medal Day Parade honors peacekeepers who have served more than 90 consecutive days. The ceremony included precision drill and display of Indian culture, which was appreciated by the UNIFIL leadership for the excellent standards and good work of the battalion in the region. The event highlighted India's long-standing contribution to UN peacekeeping efforts and its endeavors to establish stability and harmony in Lebanon.
