India maintains its consistent stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomacy are the only way forward. This position was reiterated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during a weekly briefing, referencing Prime Minister Modi’s remarks in Washington.

India has been tactful not to openly condemn Russia but has struck a balance in its strategic alliances with both Russia and the US. India has not re-positioned itself despite Western pressure and has been nudging efforts towards ending the war through peaceful means.
