Char Dham Yatra 2025: Uttarakhand Ups Online Registration to 75% as Devotee Rush Hits Record
With over 17 lakh pilgrims enrolled even before the Char Dham Yatra started on April 30, the government of Uttarakhand has raised the limit for online registration to 75% from 60% to manage the influx of pilgrims better. The move comes after a request was made by hoteliers and local administration to streamline the process and disperse crowds at counters. More offline counters will also be established on prime yatra routes at locations like Gauchar, Heena, Uttarkashi, Dobata, Damta, and Guptkashi for spot enrollments.
This year's yatra begins with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri on April 30, Kedarnath on May 2 and Badrinath on May 4. The authorities are also conducting a state-level mock drill to ensure safety and preparedness for the massive pilgrim influx
