The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR today, cautioning citizens about thunderstorms, lightning, and dust storms. The national capital can look forward to partly cloudy weather with light showers and gusty winds, bringing relief from the recent heatwave. Maximums are likely to be around 39°C, while humidity levels will reach a peak of 60%. Surface winds are predicted to be 10-20 km/h, which will supplement the temporary chill.

This change in weather is thanks to active weather systems over the northern part of India, which have already brought temperatures down and raised humidity levels. The IMD has also stated that these weather conditions will remain in place for the weekend and that there should be no heatwave until April 26, at least. Citizens are suggested to be cautious during thunderstorms and avoid outside activities during unfavourable weather.

The weather should settle down post-April 22, with clear skies and a steady increase in temperature expected later in the week.
