Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram reaffirmed that tribal welfare is the topmost priority of the government, evident in a 45.79% budgetary increase for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to ₹14,925.81 crore for 2025-26. This record boost goes to flagship initiatives such as the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), whose budget was raised four-fold to ₹2,000 crore, to drive infrastructure, education, and livelihoods in 63,843 tribal villages.

The government is also adding Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) to provide quality education to over 3.5 lakh tribal children, along with accelerating implementation of the PM-JANMAN healthcare and housing scheme for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.

A three-day national review recently in Delhi brought officials together to improve ground-level implementation and promote holistic tribal development through well-coordinated multi-ministry initiatives.

This integrated policy reiterates the Government's commitment to empowering India's 10.45 crore Scheduled Tribes for sustainable and inclusive growth.
