A new wave of artificial intelligence is sweeping through Indian classrooms, but not everyone is riding it with ease. Recent surveys reveal that over 85% of Indian students and educators feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume and availability of AI tools. While the promise of AI-driven personalized learning and streamlined administrative tasks excites many—87% of educators see AI as the future of education—there’s a growing sense of information overload and concern about misuse.

Students, in particular, are voicing anxiety: 64% worry about the impact of AI on their education, fearing over-reliance and a loss of critical thinking skills. Educators echo these concerns, citing a lack of training and infrastructure as major barriers to effective AI adoption. Despite these challenges, AI use is skyrocketing—over 77% of teachers have already experimented with AI-powered tools, and more than 85% of students are using platforms like ChatGPT for everything from career guidance to essay writing.

The message is clear: India’s education sector stands at a crossroads, eager to harness AI’s potential but urgently needing support, clear guidelines, and practical solutions to ensure technology empowers rather than overwhelms.
