The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) made a fitting tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of their lasting contributions to forging a powerful and balanced India. Held on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti and Jagjivan Ram's birth anniversary, the event invited scholars, policy makers, and community leaders to discuss the changing vision these leaders espoused.

Key Highlights:

The celebration highlighted Dr. Ambedkar's central contribution as the architect of the Indian Constitution, as Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar exhorted young people to adopt Ambedkar's vision of equality, freedom, and fraternity. Legal empowerment, representation, and social justice for the marginalized were emphasized as the highlight of the importance for which Ambedkar fought throughout his life, adopting education and dignity for all.

Babu Jagjivan Ram's inspiring journey-from freedom fighter to India's longest-serving union minister-was celebrated for his trailblazing labor reforms and unflinching commitment to empowering the underprivileged. His fight for social harmony, workers' rights, and the Green Revolution left an unmistakable mark on India's development.

The event also reflected government efforts such as the Babu Jagjivan Ram Scheme, which promotes commemoration programs and awareness drives to disseminate the values of social justice and inclusion.

Lectures, cultural performances, and webinars also added depth to the tribute, eliciting discussion on sustainable empowerment and the continued pertinence of Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram's vision in modern India.

NIN's tribute was a poignant reminder that the journey to an empowered India is paved with the virtues of justice, unity, and opportunity for everyone.
