Delhi is set to receive its third skywalk, with the Public Works Department mulling over a modern walkway at elevated level at Madhuban Chowk, one of the city's most accident-prone—and busiest—junctions. The new skywalk will offer a connection from Rohini Court, Pitampura Metro station (Red Line), and future Pink Line metro station, and make it safer for pedestrians en route while enhancing access to nearby markets that witness around 10 deaths annually.
The project, estimated at ₹17.5 crore, will be built in three parts, linking major transit points and easing congestion for thousands of daily commuters. The PWD has proposed that DMRC handle construction, leveraging their ongoing Metro expansion in the area. If approved, this skywalk will join the existing ones at ITO and South Campus, further enhancing Delhi’s pedestrian infrastructure.
