Hyderabad, April 25, 2025 - National Silk Expo 2025 was today inaugurated by Mrs. India and Mrs. Category winner of Miss and Mrs. Strong & Beautiful 2025, Priyanka Anand Chilaka at the Kalinga Cultural Hall, Banjara Hills. The nine-day festival, promoted by Jagdishwar Hastkala, showcases a vibrant array of handloom pieces, silk saris, and cotton apparel from all over India.
At the time of inauguration, Priyanka Anand Chilaka brought to the forefront the importance of such platforms to empower women and showcase India's rich heritage of handloom weaving. She asserted that exhibitions like the National Silk Expo not only celebrate craftsmanship but also give direct market access to weavers so that they can prosper without any middlemen.
Expo organizer Jayesh Kumar emphasized the aim of helping artisans and promoting sustainable, handlooms textiles. The expo will be open on all days up to April 27, between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM, as an opportunity for visitors to view the richness and diversity of Indian textiles and at the same time contribute to the livelihoods of traditional weavers.
