Mumbai, April 27, 2025 - On Sunday, Suryakumar Yadav made headlines in the world of cricket, becoming the fastest Indian player to score 4000 runs in the Indian Premier League. The vice-captain of the Mumbai Indians accomplished this feat in style against the Lucknow Super Giants during Match 45 of IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium, thrilling a Mumbai crowd with a free-flowing half-century of 54 runs off just 28 balls.

Suryakumar's IPL career started in 2012; however, it was a return to Mumbai in 2018 that saw him establish a premium T20 batting lineup.
