In a remarkable diplomatic gesture, Saudi Arabia's Royal Air Force F15 fighter jets escorted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Air India One aircraft as it entered Saudi airspace en route to Jeddah. This ceremonial welcome underscores the deepening ties between India and Saudi Arabia, marking the start of PM Modi's two-day official visit to the kingdom.

During the visit, PM Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are set to co-chair the second meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council, a bilateral mechanism established in 2019 to strengthen cooperation across various sectors. The agenda includes discussions on energy, trade, infrastructure, and defense, with at least six memoranda of understanding expected to be signed.

PM Modi's trip also highlights the importance of the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia, with plans to visit a factory employing a significant number of Indian workers. Additionally, the Prime Minister is expected to address concerns regarding Hajj arrangements, as India's quota for pilgrims has increased to 175,025 for 2025.

Diplomatic Highlights:
