Hyundai Motor India posted a record year in FY 2024-25, with SUVs making up 68.5% of overall domestic sales, an increase from 63.2% in the previous year, reflecting the surging popularity of SUVs among Indian consumers. The demand is being fueled by increased interest in premium features, especially sunroofs, which are now included in 53% of Hyundai vehicles sold—a definitive indicator of escalating customer aspirations for comfort and design.
Models like the Creta, Alcazar, Venue, and Tucson continue to dominate sales, with Creta alone notching over 52,000 units during the quarter January-March. In addition, Hyundai has doubled the share of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) variants, indicating a direction towards safety and technology.
Hyundai foresees SUV sales crossing 70% of its portfolio soon, firmly entrenching its focus on innovation and premium offerings tailored to the evolving tastes of Indian customers.
