In a dramatic IPL showdown, Punjab Kings outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs in a low-scoring contest that saw bowlers dominate from the outset. Punjab, batting first, were restricted to 111 runs in 15.3 overs. Despite the modest total, their bowlers produced a clinical display to bundle out KKR for just 95 in 15.1 overs.

Kolkata's chase got off to a shaky start, losing both openers—Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine—inside two overs. Despite a gritty 37 off 30 balls by youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi and a quickfire 17 from Andre Russell, the rest of the batting lineup crumbled under pressure. KKR lost wickets at regular intervals, unable to build any partnerships.

Punjab's bowling attack was relentless, with Yuzvendra Chahal leading the charge with figures of 4-0-28-4. Glenn Maxwell and Arshdeep Singh supported well, conceding only 2.50 and 3.67 runs per over, respectively. Marco Jansen also picked up three crucial wickets, turning the game in Punjab’s favor.

This victory gives Punjab Kings a much-needed boost in the points table, while Kolkata Knight Riders will be left to reflect on their batting collapse in what should have been a straightforward chase.
