Powering UP: Rural Youth Gear Up for a Three-Day Self-Reliance Bootcamp

In a significant drive towards rural empowerment, the Uttar Pradesh government will organize a three-day capacity-building workshop for empowering rural youth to become self-reliant. To be held from April 21 to 23, 2025, the event is under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and will include skill development on a larger scale, self-employment, and assistance to the state's ambitious target of establishing a one trillion dollar economy.
 
Workshop Details
  • Organized by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission for DDU-GKY.
  • Taking place from April 21-23, 2025.
  • Inauguration by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill
  • Development Kapil Dev Agarwal.
  • Principal Secretary Dr. Hari Om will chair the event, while being guided by Mission Director Abhishek Singh.
Objectives and Focus Areas
  • Improve the skills of institution heads, divisional joint directors, district coordinators, program managers, and MIS managers who train rural youth.
  • Incorporate new training methods, technological advancements, and solutions to operational issues.
  • Provide rural youth with quality training, counseling, and support in a timely manner for both employment and self-employment.

  • The program aims to empower rural youth to find employment and provide opportunities for others, promoting entrepreneurship at the village level.
  • Direct interaction among policymakers and implementers will be facilitated with the involvement of top-level officials from skill development, employment, industry, and education departments.
