Punjab Kings (PBKS) scripted IPL history by defending a mere 111 runs—the lowest total ever safeguarded in the league—to stun Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 16 runs. Batter Nehal Wadhera credited head coach Ricky Ponting and captain Shreyas Iyer for the turnaround, revealing Ponting’s unwavering positivity even after the team’s batting collapse. “He told the bowlers, ‘Today, it’s your turn to shine,’” said Wadhera, praising Ponting’s leadership. Iyer’s tactical acumen and energy further galvanized the squad, with Yuzvendra Chahal (4/28) and Marco Jansen (3/17) dismantling KKR for 95.
