Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially launched its much-anticipated 5G services in Chandigarh, marking a major leap in the city’s digital connectivity landscape. Starting April 28, 2025, Vi customers with 5G-enabled devices can now experience blazing-fast speeds, seamless streaming, and ultra-low latency, as the telco accelerates its nationwide 5G rollout.

  • Chandigarh Joins the 5G Era: Vi’s 5G services are now live in Chandigarh and Patna, following a successful launch in Mumbai where over 70% of eligible users have embraced 5G, accounting for 20% of the network’s total data traffic. The company plans to expand next to Delhi and Bangalore in May, further strengthening its pan-India 5G presence.
  • Unlimited 5G Data Intro Offer: As part of its launch celebration, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data on plans starting at just Rs 299. This enables users to enjoy high-speed streaming, gaming, video conferencing, rapid downloads, and real-time cloud access without worrying about data limits.
  • Cutting-Edge Network Technology: Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy energy-efficient infrastructure and advanced vRAN technology, ensuring flexible, high-performance connectivity. An AI-based Self-Organizing Network (SON) system has also been implemented to optimize network performance and deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Enhanced Stadium Experience: Coinciding with the ongoing T20 League, Vi has enabled 5G in 11 major cricket stadiums nationwide, letting fans enjoy ultra-fast mobile internet during matches.
