In an interview, Rawal recounted an incident where Patekar invited a producer to his home for a meal, only to surprise him with an unexpected request afterward.

According to Rawal, Patekar asked the producer if he ate mutton, to which the producer eagerly agreed. After enjoying the meal, Patekar casually told him to clean the dishes. Rawal laughed as he recalled the moment, describing Patekar as a man who operates on his own terms, unafraid to challenge norms.

Beyond his quirky hospitality, Patekar has long been known for his fearless approach to the film industry. Rawal revealed that Patekar was the first character actor in Hindi cinema to demand a fee of one crore rupees for a role—an amount that even leading heroes hesitated to ask for at the time.
