In a nail-biting IPL encounter, the Lucknow Super Giants clinched a narrow victory over the Rajasthan Royals by just two runs. Chasing a target of 181, Rajasthan Royals finished at 178/5 in their 20 overs, falling agonizingly short despite a valiant 74-run knock from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal anchored the chase with 5 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 142.31 before being dismissed by Avesh Khan.

Youngest IPL Debutant, Vaibhav Suryavanshi provided a quickfire 34 off 20 balls, but regular wickets kept the pressure on Rajasthan. Captain Riyan Parag tried to revive the chase with a brisk 39 off 26 balls, yet the required rate kept climbing. Shimron Hetmyer’s late cameo of 12 from 7 balls wasn’t enough as Avesh Khan (4-0-37-3) and Shardul Thakur (3-0-34-1) held their nerve in the death overs.

Earlier, Lucknow posted 180/5, setting a competitive total. Rajasthan’s disciplined bowling and spirited batting made for a thrilling contest, but Lucknow’s bowlers prevailed in the final moments, sealing a memorable win in this IPL classic.
