Aida Ismailova, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Korea, met with Hwang Ki-yeon, the Senior Executive Director of the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of Korea, to discuss the possible allocation of a preferential loan of up to $500 million to Kyrgyz Republic. The discussion centered on the Framework Agreement which was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea in December 2024, allowing for the provision of loans from Korea's Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of various current EDCF projects, as well as discussed future projects in priority sectors, including healthcare, transport, and civil aviation. The agreement was to support several priority projects in the Kyrgyz Republic to promote economic development.
