Kitex Garments Ltd. has formally started trial runs at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Warangal, a watershed moment for Telangana's industrial landscape. This milestone is part of Kitex's huge ₹3,000 crore investment in the state, to turn the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park into India's biggest textile manufacturing center.
Key Highlights:
-
Warangal facility, in the initial trial run mode, is likely to start full-fledged commercial production over the next couple of months with a capacity of up to 22 lakh pieces a day.
-
Kitex's growth in Telangana isn't limited to Warangang alone but includes Sitarampur outside Hyderabad too, promising an overall 25,000 fresh employment opportunities ranging across positions—be it engineers and managers to supervisors and qualified operators.
-
-
The drive has already begun for recruitment, with interviews scheduled and vacancies available for freshers as well as experienced persons in areas like spinning, knitting, dyeing, printing, and others.
-
The mega project is likely to employ 22,000 directly (with close to 80% being female) and create an additional 18,000 indirect employment opportunities, giving a welcome boost to the local economy as well as women's labor force participation.
-
Kitex's Warangal unit will have an integrated "yarn to garment" manufacturing line, with backward integration having a ginning unit, to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality control.
Telangana government and local officials appreciated Kitex's dedication, with the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park on its way to securing more international investment and becoming an industrial growth model for South India.
With its trial run in Warangal underway, Kitex Garments is not only rewriting the standards of textile manufacturing but also spinning new prospects for Telangana's future.
