Akshay Kumar’s latest historical drama, Kesari Chapter 2, has made an impressive start at the domestic box office, earning Rs 17.92 crore within just two days of its release. Directed by debutant filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, the film delves into the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the legal battle that followed.

The movie, which also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, opened to a strong response, collecting Rs 7.84 crore on its first day and witnessing a significant jump to Rs 10.08 crore on the second day. The production house shared these figures, highlighting the film’s growing momentum among audiences.

Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire, co-authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It narrates the true story of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who courageously fought a defamation trial against Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, in the 1920s. The film brings to life Nair’s fearless stand against British atrocities, including his criticism of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

With its gripping narrative, powerful performances, and historical significance, Kesari Chapter 2 is resonating with audiences and critics alike. The film’s early success at the box office suggests it could become one of the standout releases of the year.
