Global cybersecurity firm Kaspersky is making a significant push into the Indian market, recognizing the country’s rapid digital transformation and growing need for robust cyber defenses. The company has tripled its workforce in India over the past two years, hiring specialists in sales, pre-sales, and technical support to enhance its local operations.

Jaydeep Singh, General Manager for Kaspersky’s India region, highlighted the firm’s commitment to expanding research and development capabilities within the country. He noted that India is home to global research teams that monitor over 900 advanced persistent threat groups daily, reinforcing Kaspersky’s role in global cybersecurity intelligence.

Kaspersky is also investing in digital footprint intelligence analysts to strengthen services such as brand monitoring and takedown operations. The company views India as a key innovation hub and is actively collaborating with government agencies and private sector entities to improve cybersecurity awareness and infrastructure.

Singh praised India’s regulatory environment, citing the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and guidelines from agencies like the Reserve Bank of India and the Securities and Exchange Board of India as pragmatic steps toward stronger cyber governance. He also expressed optimism about future AI regulations and Kaspersky’s willingness to contribute to policy discussions.

With India’s internet user base expanding rapidly, the demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions is growing. Kaspersky detects over 450,000 unique malware samples daily and leverages AI and machine learning to enhance its threat mitigation strategies. Singh emphasized the need for a cyber-immune world, where IT and operational technology systems are highly resistant to breaches.
