Movie director Karan Johar has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the core of his heart for bringing to light the outstanding role of C Sankaran Nair, the freedom fighter and jurist. PM Modi, in a recent speech, praised Nair's courageous criticism of the British Empire after the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, pointing out how Nair's story has been "unheard, untold, and unread" for vast numbers of Indians for so long. Johar, whose latest movie Kesari Chapter 2 features Akshay Kumar as Nair, shared his thankfulness on social media, highlighting the necessity of recalling such unsung heroes who played a role in India's struggle for independence. Johar's action comes after Kesari Chapter 2 attempts to place Nair's legacy in the spotlight, with a call to the younger generation to honor the sacrifices for India's independence. The film's cast and crew, including Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday, also mirrored appreciation for the Prime Minister's recognition. Source: Times Now, Koimoi, India Today, ANI
