Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will not play in Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder because of a hip injury he suffered in Game 3. Morant hurt the left side of his hip in the second quarter when he collided with Oklahoma City's Luguentz Dort on a dunk attempt. After missing two free throws, Morant left the game and was subsequently ruled out with a left hip contusion.
This loss occurs at a very important time for the Grizzlies, who find themselves down 0-3 in the series. Morant has been an integral part of the team's effort, with averages of 18.3 points and 5.5 assists through the first three games of the series. His absence will certainly put pressure on Memphis as they battle to stay alive in the playoffs.
The Grizzlies will now depend on the likes of Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Scotty Pippen Jr. to rise up and replace Morant. The team has proven to be resilient in the past, sustaining a respectable record during the regular season without their lead guard. But now, the stakes are greater, and the pressure is intense.
