Iyer and Kishan Return to BCCI Contracts as Pant Earns Promotion

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced its annual central contracts for the 2024-25 season, bringing notable changes to the list. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have made their way back into the contracts after a year’s absence, while Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A, reflecting his growing importance in the team’s plans.  

Key highlights of the announcement:  
- Shreyas Iyer has been awarded a Grade B contract, joining players like Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.  
- Ishan Kishan has been included in Grade C, alongside emerging talents such as Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhishek Sharma.  
- Rishabh Pant’s promotion to Grade A signifies his pivotal role in both Test and white-ball formats, placing him alongside Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami.  
- The elite Grade A+ category remains unchanged, featuring Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja.  

These updates highlight the BCCI’s strategy to reward consistent performers while recognizing emerging talents, ensuring a balanced mix of experience and youth in the Indian cricket team.
