Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India’s position as a global space power, highlighting the country’s ability to execute the most cost-effective yet highly successful space missions. Speaking during his Mann Ki Baat address, Modi emphasized that India’s space program has reached new heights, with ISRO playing a pivotal role in advancing scientific exploration and satellite technology.

India’s achievements in space have garnered international recognition, with ISRO launching 104 satellites in a single mission and becoming the first country to land near the Moon’s South Pole. The Mars Orbiter Mission and the Aditya-L1 solar mission further demonstrate India’s capability to conduct ambitious space explorations at a fraction of the cost incurred by other nations.

Modi also paid tribute to former ISRO chief K Kasturirangan, acknowledging his contributions to India’s space program and education reforms. Under his leadership, ISRO expanded its satellite capabilities, strengthening India’s presence in global space research.

The Prime Minister noted that India’s space sector has witnessed exponential growth, with over 325 space startups now operating in the country. This surge in innovation is expected to propel India’s space ambitions even further, with upcoming missions aimed at deep-space exploration and satellite advancements.
