India has long celebrated a multilingual identity, recognizing 22 official languages and more than 450 spoken languages. This is not just symbolic—it's the foundation of our democratic and cultural life. But attempts toward linguistic homogeny in recent times undermine this empowering choice.

In a nation where each language is a unique outlook, a way of life, a heritage, prioritizing one over others may silence millions. Diversity is not our challenge—diversity is our wealth. From Marathi to Tamil, Kashmiri to Bengali, all combined create a tapestry of tunes and melodies.

"We shouldn't defeat the intention behind embracing diversity." One language is never competitive—it is collaborative. Policy should raise all voices, rather than stifle the softer ones.

Let us not let India's strength become a weakness. In our multicultural orchestra, every dialect should get its solo.
