India is rapidly advancing its digital infrastructure with several key initiatives:

5G Expansion: The Economic Survey 2025 reports that over 4.6 lakh 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) have been installed nationwide, bringing 5G services to 779 out of 783 districts. This expansion aims to enhance digital connectivity across the country.

Digital Highways: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is developing 10,000 km of 'Digital Highways' by laying optical fibre cables along national highways. Pilot projects include 1,367 km on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and 512 km on the Hyderabad-Bangalore corridor, facilitating high-speed internet access in remote areas.

MSME Empowerment: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are recognized as key drivers of India's digital push. Policies promoting easier access to digital services and tools are essential to empower MSMEs, enabling them to expand their reach and contribute to the digital economy.

These initiatives underscore India's commitment to fostering a digitally empowered society and inclusive economic growth.
