India continues to make its mark in international shooting, with Arya Borse delivering a commendable performance at the ISSF World Cup in Lima, Peru. Competing in the 10m Air Rifle Women event, Arya finished fifth in her first-ever final at an ISSF World Cup stage, showcasing remarkable skill and composure in her rookie international season.

Arya qualified for the final with an impressive score of 633.9, trailing only behind reigning junior world champion Wang Zifei of China, who set three world records during the event. In the final, Arya maintained a strong position, leading after the first five-shot series and staying competitive against world-class shooters like Han Jiayu of China, Jeanette Hegg Duestad of Norway, and Eunji Kwon of Korea.

Her performance remained steady until the 17th shot, where a 9.9 pushed her down to fourth place. Despite a strong 10.4 on her 18th shot, she narrowly missed out on advancing further, finishing with a score of 188.1, just 0.1 behind Han Jiayu, who secured silver. Wang Zifei dominated the event, leading a Chinese sweep of the medals, with Fan Xinyi taking bronze.

India remains second in the overall medals tally, with two golds, two silvers, and one bronze, trailing the USA by just one gold medal. Earlier in the day, Arjun Babuta secured silver in the men's 10m Air Rifle event, further strengthening India's position in the competition.
