IIT Guwahati Opens Doors to Future Innovators with BSc in Data Science & AI

IIT Guwahati has officially opened admissions for its four-year Bachelor of Science (Honours) program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, offering students a gateway to cutting-edge skills in one of the fastest-growing fields. The program, hosted by the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, is designed to provide industry-aligned learning, global exposure, and flexible exit options.  

 

Registrations for the course began on April 14, 2025, and will remain open until May 30, 2025. The academic session is set to commence on September 1, 2025. The curriculum integrates theoretical foundations with hands-on training, featuring interactive video lectures, real-world case studies, and live sessions conducted by IIT Guwahati faculty and industry experts.  

 

The program offers multiple exit options, allowing students to earn different credentials at various stages:  

Students who exit early can rejoin after a one-year gap to complete their degree. The course is open to high school graduates from both science and non-science backgrounds, as well as working professionals and entrepreneurs looking to upskill. Those eligible for JEE (Advanced) in any year receive direct admission, while others must qualify through an online entrance test.  

 

Graduates of this program can pursue roles such as Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, AI Researcher, Data Analyst, and Big Data Engineer. The degree also makes students eligible for competitive exams like GATE, enabling further academic and professional advancement.
