Maharashtra's horse riding pioneer, Hriday Chheda, has gained yet another feather in his cap with the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for 2022-23. This award, which was handed over by the Maharashtra Government, marks his momentous milestone as a member of the first Indian team to win a gold medal in Dressage at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The award has given Hriday a boost of confidence, as he targets future mega events. He is training in Europe right now, eyeing the Asian Continental Championships in Pattaya later this year and the World Equestrian Games in Germany next year. These are milestones towards his long-term goal: competing for India at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Hriday's path started with horse riding camps in Mumbai, leading him eventually to the Amateur Riders Club. His love of equestrian sports has not only achieved personal success for him but also promoted the sport in India, encouraging generations to come to take up the sport.
