Haryana's One-Time Tax Waiver Scheme Provides Up to 60% Relief to Small Traders; Find Out If You Are Eligible

The government of Haryana has announced a new One-Time Tax Waiver Scheme that aims to give considerable financial respite to small business owners and traders who are burdened with pending tax liabilities. The scheme offers up to 60% waiver on pending tax dues to eligible taxpayers, allowing small traders to settle their dues and start their businesses anew.

Major Points of the Scheme:

Up to 60% relief on disputed tax dues for small traders with outstanding amounts below Rs 10 lakh.

Taxpayers with dues between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10 crore can settle by paying 50% of the disputed amount.

Those with dues exceeding Rs 10 crore must pay the full amount but will benefit from waiver of penalties and interest.

The scheme can be applied to pending disputes before different tax authorities, including those arising under GST and previous tax systems.

It will be effective for six months from the date of introduction, in order to ensure timely settlement.

The government seeks to reduce the financial burden on small traders, enhance compliance, and foster a business-friendly atmosphere in Haryana.

Eligibility Criteria:

Small traders and businesses with pending tax disputes of up to Rs 10 crore.

Taxpayers whose dues are less than Rs 10 lakh will benefit the most with the maximum waiver of 60%.

Disputes in front of tax authorities, appellate tribunals, and courts are covered under this scheme.

The move indicates the level of seriousness Haryana has in favor of facilitating small businesses and making it easy to do business in the state. Traders are requested to calculate their eligibility and avail themselves of this facility to clear pending tax issues at a lower cost.
