In a historic move fusing tradition and public enthusiasm, the legendary ancestral house of Mukesh and Anil Ambani in Gujarat's Chorwad has opened its majestic gates to the public—for a staggering entry fee of merely Rs 2. This 100-year-old, Rs 100 crore mansion, once the childhood home of India's great business patriarch Dhirubhai Ambani, has been painstakingly restored to become the Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial House.
Tourists can now stroll through the same corridors where Dhirubhai had grandiose dreams, walk through rooms filled with antique furniture, copper and brass kitchenware, and admire personal artifacts tracing the breathtaking journey of the Ambani family. The mansion, which stretches over 1.2 verdant acres, also features a public wing dedicated to the life of Dhirubhai, an in-house theatre, and peaceful gardens, while a private wing continues to remain off-limits to the Ambani family.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, this heritage site is fast becoming a must-see for all those who want a glimpse of one of India's greatest rags-to-riches tales. For a mere Rs 2, people can witness history, luxury, and legacy—all rolled into one.
