The qualification process for the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup 2025 has officially concluded following the Junior Africa Cup 2024, held in Windhoek, Namibia. The tournament determined the final three spots for both the men's and women's competitions, with South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Egypt securing their places.
South Africa dominated the women’s competition, winning all five of their matches with a remarkable goal difference of +38. Namibia finished second, securing a spot in the final alongside South Africa. Zimbabwe claimed the last available qualification spot after defeating Uganda 6-1 in the bronze medal match.
In the men’s category, South Africa once again led the standings, winning all five of their matches. Namibia secured second place, earning a spot in the final. Egypt clinched the last qualification spot after a dramatic bronze medal match against Kenya, which ended in a shootout victory.
The FIH Junior Hockey World Cup 2025 will feature 24 teams in both the men’s and women’s tournaments, marking the first time the competition has expanded to this scale. The women’s event will be held in Chile, while the men’s tournament will take place in India.
