FDC Ltd has announced a major expansion of its liquid oral manufacturing facility at the Sinnar plant, with the Board of Directors approving an investment of approximately ₹1.4 billion (₹140 crore). The strategic move aims to boost the plant’s annual production capacity to 77,000 kilolitres, up from the current average capacity utilization of 70% to 80% across dosage forms.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the expansion is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months and will be financed entirely through internal accruals. FDC’s leadership highlighted that this capacity addition is crucial for sustaining the company’s growth trajectory, meeting rising market demand, and exceeding customer expectations in both domestic and international markets.

The Sinnar facility is a key part of FDC’s manufacturing network, which already serves over 50 countries and is renowned for its oral rehydration salts and a diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical products. The expansion will not only enhance FDC’s ability to cater to the growing demand for its flagship brands like Electral but also support the company’s ambitions in export markets and new product launches.

This investment underscores FDC’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation for stakeholders, positioning the company for continued leadership in the pharmaceutical sector.
