Delhi’s rising shooting star Rashmika Sahgal delivered a sensational performance at the 23rd Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, capturing the coveted pistol triple crown in Bhopal. Competing at the MP State Academy (MPSA) range, Rashmika swept the women’s 10m air pistol events, winning gold in the senior, junior, and youth categories-a rare and remarkable feat in Indian shooting.
Rashmika's quest for the triple crown witnessed her firing 239.9 in the women's final, 243.2 in the junior women's final, and 240.6 in the youth women's final, outscoring a lineup filled with India's best young pistol shooters. Her performance in all age categories not only attests to her technical skills and pressure handling abilities but also puts her firmly on the list of Indian shooting's brightest prospects.
This win comes as Rashmika is set to lead India at the Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, next month, only adding to expectations for her first international outing. The Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, a top-level domestic tournament in India, saw top shooters from all over India turn up, with pistol events being conducted in Bhopal and rifle events simultaneously at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
Rashmika’s triple triumph is being celebrated as a milestone for Delhi’s shooting contingent and a testament to the rising standards of India’s next generation of athletes.
