The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has dedicated a wall at Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh Metro Station to honor the recipients of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor. The installation features portraits of 21 awardees, including 14 who were recognized posthumously, along with descriptions of their acts of valor.
The tribute serves as a reminder of the extraordinary bravery displayed by these soldiers in times of conflict. Commuters passing through the station can reflect on their contributions, as each portrait is accompanied by a brief narrative detailing the circumstances under which the honor was awarded.
The artwork was created by skilled artists to capture the essence of the recipients' courage and sacrifice. Delhi Metro has previously taken similar initiatives, such as naming metro stations after decorated soldiers, including Major Mohit Sharma Rajendra Nagar and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh.
This project is part of a larger effort by DMRC to integrate elements of national pride into public spaces, fostering a sense of respect and remembrance among citizens.
